Cutting

Cutting the sawn sheets to the dimensions described in the project

CNC cutting

We use CNC technology for our work, making the most of CNC and CNC waterjet machinery.

The advantages of this type of technology are

  • Increased machine productivity;
  • Decrease in total production time;
  • Flexibility;
  • A greater number of operations can be carried out than with conventional systems, simply by changing the program for the machine to produce another product.
  • Precision;
  • They make it possible to carry out several operations with the same workpiece clamping, minimizing repositioning errors.

Finishes

Surface Finishing

We carry out various types of surface finishing.
These finishes have different functions.
The finishes can be applied aesthetically or functionally, in which case they can have a specific function such as anti-skid.
The choice of finish depends on the project and is suited to each project, not restricted to choosing a particular type.

Sawdust

In this type of finishing, the slab is sawn in the mills and washed to remove traces of dirt accumulated during the sawing process.
The stone is then cut to the desired dimensions.
The “sawn” has a rough surface.
It is widely used outdoors.

Polished

The polished finish is done with a polishing machine.
The stone has a shiny surface and is completely smooth.
It enhances the color and grain of the natural stone.
The polished finish makes the stone easy to wash as it is waterproofed or resin-coated.
Mostly used on floors, kitchen worktops, bathroom and kitchen sinks.
It is also used in interior staircases and fireplaces.

Softened

The honed finish is similar to the polished finish. It also has a smooth surface, but no shine.
It gives a “matt” finish.

Flamed

In this type of finish, jets of fire are applied (in flames) which cause some particles to jump through the action of heat.
The flamed finish gives a finish with relief variations.
Not all materials can be flame finished.
This finish makes surfaces non-slip and is widely used on outdoor stairs.

Bushwhacked

It is a finish suitable for exterior coatings and floors.
This finish makes surfaces non-slip.
It is the roughest finish and can be applied to any material depending on the intensity applied to the bushings used in the process.
It is the coarsest type of roughness.

Sandblasting

In the sandblasted finish, a high-pressure jet of sand is directed at the face of the stone until it has a rough surface.
The sandblasted finish has a slightly rougher texture than the sawn finish and is less rough than the bush-hammered finish.

Brushed

This type of finish has a non-slip surface.
It has a rustic appearance and is suitable for smooth surfaces.
It is semi-rough but smoother than the sandblasted finish.
Rotating abrasive mechanical brushes are applied.
The brushed finish is often applied to floors and walls.

Striped

The scratched finish is done with a specific cutter inserted into the cutting machine or with a manual machine with cutters.
The appearance of the finish lives up to its name, as the stone looks scratched.
This finish is widely used on façades and walls.

Escassilhado (Rustic)

In the chiseled finish, a metal tool is used so that the stone is broken in an irregular way.
It is an entirely manual process and is widely used for stones and exterior walls, giving a rustic finish.

Stone treatment

We carry out various services by applying products that waterproof the stone, preventing it from staining and absorbing grease and other products that could damage the stone.
Once applied, cleaning and removal is very easy.
This treatment can be applied to kitchen/bathroom countertops, worktops or flooring.
On untreated stone, removing certain types of products such as oils and olive oils will stain the stone, as natural stone without waterproofing can absorb these types of products, staining the stone.
