What is Silestone:

It is composed of natural quartz, at about 94%. This change in materials’ composition gives the stone more variety of designs and high strength, durability, and hardness. It’s neither marble nor granite. Silestone belongs to Compounds and Marbles and Granites belongs to natural stones.

It’s mainly used in kitchen countertops and bathrooms, flooring and coatings.

Benefits:

• It is tough and durable, with a hardness rating of 7 on the Mohs Scale. Silestone doesn’t scratch and doesn’t break, however, despite being quite resistant, some care is required.

• It doesn’t stain and doesn’t absorb liquids. It’s dirt and stain proof.

• It’s easy to clean. Because it’s waterproof and does not allow bacteria to proliferate. Silestone is a very simple stone to clean.

• Variety of colors and finishes. When you choose Silestone you can have different shades from neutral to vibrant colors. You can also choose from different finishes.

Cares of Silestone:

• Do not use moisturizers or sealants to enhance shine;

• Do not leave the surface in permanent contact with bleach;

• Solvent and bleach may affect Silestone if in direct contact;

• Do not use degreasers such as those used for the oven;

• Do not expose Silestone to high temperatures (e.g. fryers) or continuous contact with a heat source;

• Do not put pots and pans directly on the stone, use base pads;

• Never use Hydrofluoric acid, Dichloromethane, NaOH – caustic soda, Strippers;

Cleaning:

• For regular Silestone cleaning, use mild soap and water;

• Always remove food residue with detergent or mild soap, rinse with water and then wipe with a damp cloth.
